The Man Who Chased Shadows

He came home and the beans were still on the stove. That was how it began. Not with a fight. Not with a goodbye. Just a pot left on the flame, a ring on the windowsill, and four children waiting for their father to hold it together.Wilson Moore is a journalist. He knows how to follow a thread through darkness. For seven years he has been chasing a road that goes nowhere a road should go. A government road that displaced sixty thousand people and buried the truth beneath it.Then his wife Juliana disappears. To find her, he must walk through a country consuming itself, through checkpoints, safe houses and whispers, with four children whose lives depend on him not stopping. Some men search for what they lost. Others find, in the searching, what their country buried. The Man Who Chased the Shadows is a sweeping and deeply human novel about family, exile and the stubborn and costly act of love that holds us together when history tries to break us apart. For readers of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Khaled Hosseini, and Colum McCann.
