In The Lost Feather, a Native American boy, whose very special feather is lost to the wind, begins a search not only for the feather, but for the bravery which he fears he has lost with it. His journey, assisted by his animal friends, comes to an abrupt halt when an enemy invades his village and, with the fate of the village in his hands, he must think fast. His adventure leads him to a surprising self-discovery, reminding him that the memory of his father will guide him forever. Although the young brave's animal friends are personified in the spirit of Native American folklore, the story is the author's own creation.
