The Loads We Carry

A childhood song. A faded thermos. The address Cal has carried above his visor for three years. As the miles pass, the road begins pulling Cal through the wreckage he left behind. Clocks stop. Old memories take physical shape. A dark stranger offers him one final excuse to keep driving. But the living son waiting at Mercy Road is no longer the boy Cal remembers, and an apology cannot return the years a father chose to miss.Haunting, hard-edged, and deeply human, The Loads We Carry is a supernatural story about guilt, fatherhood, and the terrible distance between regretting what you have done and becoming a man who finally shows up.
