He sets out to slay a man-eating lion on the White Mountain of ancient Phoenicia-and returns victorious to Gebal (Byblos), bearing the lion's hide. He earns not only his father's respect but a new name: Aleon-Tabah, the Lion Slayer. But his trials are far from over. Forced into an arranged marriage with a woman who despises him, Aleon-Tabah must navigate personal turmoil, the schemes of a corrupt high priest, and a deadly plague.
