The Last Stormwarden: Book One, Part One

Ten thousand humans. One hundred and eighty days.Alex was seventeen, closing up the gym on a rainy Tuesday, three weeks out from a birthday and a decision about the rest of his life. Then the sky changed, and the world handed him a window with a countdown in it. The rules are simple enough. Kill beasts, clear trials, earn Tutorial Points. Death is an ever constant looming threat. No retries and nobody coming to help. Tutorial Points transfer just as well from a person as from a monster. Alex draws the storm, and the storm is not a gift. Every level costs him something. Every skill is a door that closes behind him. And ninety days in, the thing he has to be afraid of isn't the monsters - it's the man who worked out, faster than anyone, that the fastest way to level is other people. The Last Stormwarden is the first book of the MR-8 Saga: a System Apocalypse LitRPG about what survival actually costs, and the System never once asks if you're ready.
