The Last Rhodesian

1975. The old world is crumbling, and modern man is marching slowly toward his own twilight. In a Rhodesia bleeding from a brutal civil war, twenty-five-year-old paleontologist Erik Van der Meer returns to a homeland he no longer recognizes. Sent to unearth an undiscovered lineage of Jurassic apex predators along the volatile Zambezi River, he finds instead a nation driven to imminent collapse. The land of his childhood is already gone. Arriving to the news of his father's death and seeing the country fall into the hands of Marxist guerrillas, Erik must venture into the heart of darkness. Accompanied by his soldier brother, an English journalist, and a battle-hardened guide, he leads a perilous expedition into enemy-contested territory. As the earth yields secrets of titans that once dominated the world, the living must face their own extinction.
