The Last Ones

At the edge of Winsome Creek sits a crumbling cabin where Raymond and Alicia Mabrey have lived for decades, protected by land that behaves less like soil and more like something listening. The townspeople whisper about missing livestock, vanished travelers, and shadows that move with purpose-but the Mabreys know the truth: the ridge beneath their home is alive, and it chooses whom to keep. When the earth grows jealous and takes a child from town, Raymond and Alicia fight to calm the force they once believed saved them. But the land has learned too much-love, fear, longing-and now it wants something of its own. As Winsome Creek braces for the unthinkable, the Mabreys must confront the creature beneath their feet... before it decides they belong to it forever.
