Bol On her adult-size three wheeled tricycle, with the help of a few neighborhood boys and their wagon, Alice spends a few years delivering over 700 of her books to the town's bi-annual library sale. Nearing the end of her life, this book-loving woman plots and carries out a strategic plan for secretly gifting the last 50 books (from Steinbeck to Maya Angelou) of her collection to both random and very consciously chosen members of her small mid-western community. For Alice, every book, every story is a window into someone else's life. Lives that are so different from her own. People whose skin color, language, and love life opened new doors to her understanding of the world and increased her capacity for compassion.
