The labour market, gender and politics

Due to the ongoing transformation of society, there is a constant need for new regulations, guidance and adaptation to changing circumstances. The labour market, in particular, as an essential component of social life, is subject to constant change. Despite extensive changes and progress regarding gender equality, a significant gender gap persists within the world of work. To some extent, the state takes on an active role through political action, resulting in various political strategies at different levels aimed at improving gender equality. In addition to outlining the development of the labour market, equality policy and providing an overview of the multifaceted political measures, this work also includes a critical examination of these state strategies, as well as an exploration of the limits of political action and an outlook on the future development of gender equality.
