The Kinetic

In 1970 Creative Writing Teacher Ms.Espinoza sends four of her students to the heart of Detroit in hopes the assignment will help them gain valuable tools and material about life to write about their experiences for her class. The students upon arriving find themselves at the gate of a dilapidated, run-down area of Detroit. Questioning why Ms. Espinoza had sent them to this scary, burned out and abandoned factory they are at first reluctant to go inside to explore any further.Overcoming their initial fears, the four students; Maria, Joe, Malcom and Caleb discover a new world that would change their lives forever and give to each of them a more meaningful and purposeful life while helping them understand why Ms. Espinoza had sent them to the Kinetic in the first place. This is a story of coming of age and moving from innocence to the harsh realities of adulthood. The discovery of the Kinetic is a world of young people who are committed to be a Kinetic force in life in hopes that one day their accomplishments will prove to the world that they were here and relevant.
