The Iron Rose

Sweeping and swashbuckling, The Iron Rose is a post-Elizabethan high-seas historical romance about a fearless pirate captain, a duke who is nothing like he seems, and a reluctant alliance forged in cannon fire on the Spanish Main. The Iron Rose answers to no man-least of all a duke. Bound for the Caribbean on a mission for the king, Varian St. Clare's ship is set upon by a Spanish galleon-and rescued, guns blazing, by a pirate vessel called the Iron Rose. To the emissary's astonishment, her captain is a woman: Juliet Dante, youngest child of the infamous Pirate Wolf, and as deadly with her wit as she is with a blade. Juliet takes the duke prisoner and carts him off to her father, certain he's a foppish peer who can't dress without his fussy manservant. She's wrong. Beneath the silk, Varian is a master swordsman, a former soldier, and a practiced seducer-and as their fortunes tangle across treacherous waters, the captive proves himself a formidable ally, and something far more dangerous to a captain who answers to no one.
