Bol Phoenix, 1987. Joe is eighteen, broke, and fiercely in love. Beside him is Tracy, wearing the small gold ring he could barely afford. With thirty-two hundred dollars and a 1965 Mustang with no heat, they leave Phoenix for Las Vegas to get married and invent the rest as they go.Instead, the road carries them into a bare Colorado Springs apartment, a winter neither expected, and the orbit of Melanie - an older local actress who becomes their first real friend.By February, Tracy is in Denver. Joe is alone, calling a house where nobody puts her on the phone. When the knock finally comes, it isn't Tracy. It's Melanie - and she already knows something Joe doesn't.The Irish Eyes Have It is a quiet story of first love, shifting loyalties, and learning that wanting someone is not the same as knowing how to stay.
