France is a multilingual country, as there are officially 75 "Languages of France," not counting languages brought by immigrants. In recent years, studies have highlighted the "benefits" of bilingualism: open-mindedness, easier learning, greater professional mobility, and the ability to adapt to multiple cultures. The current study focuses on the working memory abilities of bilingual children, but more specifically on the impact of each language on these abilities. Is it simply bilingualism that enhances children's cognitive abilities, or can we further enhance them by choosing the right language? To answer these questions, this study evaluated the memory abilities of bilingual and monolingual children of the same age and compared their performance.
