The house of memories

The family's ancient dwelling breathes out a coldness that strikes fear into anyone who crosses its threshold. It is a living organism, a monumental trap to escape from-yet a young girl discovers a sanctuary within it. She knows the dwelling is not merely stone and shadow: she has strained her ears to hear its heartbeat, the rushing of blood through the cracks. With this house, she has forged a pact of love and survival. She has become the interpreter of inaudible voices, the keeper of memories destined to vanish into oblivion, the heir to a truth suspended in the void. But destiny demands a parting. The dark idyll is bound to shatter. The girl must move to a new house, a sterile place where the spirits and the Guardian will no longer be able to protect her. The severed bond, however, cannot be erased. Now an adult, the innocent ancient soul goes in search of her roots through hypnosis, while the dwelling, deprived of its keeper, self-destructs, taking the last heirs down with it.
