The Ghosts Of Past

On the brink of her wedding, Rencie's life is upended when her fiancé, Charlie, dies suddenly, leaving her to face a future she never imagined. Set in 1960s England, this semi-autobiographical novel follows Rencie as she navigates the long, uneven path from heartbreak to renewal. Through richly drawn moments of village and community life, Rencie finds her footing again, teaching, building friendships, and slowly rediscovering purpose. As the world around her shifts with the social changes of the decade, she, too, begins to change, growing into her career and into herself. When she eventually meets Will, a new chapter opens, one shaped not by forgetting the past but by learning to live alongside it. As Rencie moves towards a sense of belonging and happiness, the ghosts that have followed her, memories, echoes, and inner voices, are finally laid to rest. A story of resilience, memory, and the quiet strength of community, this is a portrait of a woman finding her way home to herself
