The Forgotten Many

When Tabatha Zinder flees her abusive partner with her young son-bruised, terrified, sixty-eight cents to her name-she seeks refuge in a women's shelter. What she finds there is something she stopped believing in: hope and solidarity. But when a fellow resident's unborn baby is killed by her estranged husband, the grief that moves through the shelter moves outward, igniting a vigil that catches fire across the country. When Tabatha's ex finds her, she must fight for her life, and for every woman who never got the chance to fight for hers. The Forgotten Many is a novel (based on a true story) about the women nobody sees, the violence nobody names, and the cost of leaving. It's about the women who refuse to let each other disappear-and it's the first to answer, in a voice that will not be ignored, the question asked of every survivor: Why did you stay?
