The Follow Me Life

The Follow Me Life is a Bible study that begins with a challenging question: Does your Christianity look like the Christianity of the New Testament? Many Christians find themselves confronted with the reality that there has to be more to this Christian life than what we often experience in America and the Western world. Christians face this tension when they read missionary accounts of people giving up everything to spread the message of Jesus, when they see the gospel miraculously spreading rapidly in oppressive and restrictive countries that are hostile to the gospel, or when they hear about the amazing and inspiring stories of the persecuted church. Yet the greatest source of tension comes when they open the Bible-the very Word of God that reveals how different their lives look from what's written on its pages. It is here they realize that their lives don't look anything close to what they're seeing in Scripture, leaving them with the deep sense that something profound is missing. So the question becomes: can we enter into the life that Scripture describes-the life we feel is missing from our own experience? And if so, how do we enter this life? This life we long for can be found! The answer is found in the two words repeated throughout the Gospels: "Follow me." This is the invitation of Jesus-the God of the universe. This is the life He offers-The Follow Me Life.
