The First Version Wins

The future does not need to be right. It only needs a head start. A signed evacuation order reaches FIRSTLIGHT ninety-four seconds before the authority that supposedly created it records its creation. The warning is plausible. People move. Lives are saved. Then more early packets arrive. Some help. One contributes to a fatal crush. Each response makes the first credible version harder to overturn. Maya Idris built FIRSTLIGHT to move emergency information fast. Now she joins Amara Okafor and the Black Relay investigators to confront a danger that survives even when conflicting records remain visible: people act before competing evidence can arrive. As hospitals, rail networks and power grids face shrinking action windows, Maya must change how the world responds-without making hesitation more dangerous than the warning itself. The First Version Wins is Book Four of The Black Relay, a conspiracy thriller series by Abir M.
