The First Light

Nexarion has spent longer than most civilizations exist traveling between worlds, protecting people who will never know his name, while Kaedra Hollowmere has spent nearly eighty years caring for the people of Blackhaven, the small coastal village she calls home. Their lives cross when the sky tears open during one of Kaedra's ancient covenants and Nexarion falls into the sea. Not long after, a strange Affliction begins appearing in her world. Those it infects lose more than their lives. Memories disappear, people begin to lose themselves, and something seems to connect those who have been taken. When the threat reaches closer to Blackhaven, Kaedra leaves the life she has always known and joins Nexarion in searching for answers. But for all the worlds he has traveled and all the things he has seen, the Affliction is something even Nexarion doesn't understand, and the deeper they follow it, the clearer it becomes that this may be only the beginning.
