The Figure In Distance

Fifteen years after a violent solar flash transformed Earth's atmosphere into a weekly radioactive storm, Zera-a former Navy veteran managing chronic kidney disease and an unyielding, sarcastic divine voice in his head-wanders the scorched ruins of North America. Armed with a carbon-steel machete, thirty feet of pristine industrial mooring cable, and Strife, a cynical four-pound tortoiseshell cat acting as his reluctant companion, Zera navigates a harsh wasteland where rope serves as currency under the "Cordage Standard". Journeying from the skeleton of an old retail store to the burgeoning shantytown of Basin City, Zera discovers that true survival requires abandoning desperate effort for divine permission: Ephphatha (Be Opened). Blending post-apocalyptic grit with sharp theological satire and quantum-parable philosophy, The Figure in the Distance is an epic chronicle of breakthrough, inner sovereignty, and ultimate redemption.
