The Facility

When Alan awoke, the complete darkness surrounding him was the first surprise.Others soon followed as he realised he was secured to a wall and was not alone, as the growing cacophony of confused voices soon made clear to him. Even that did not prepare him from when the light came on and he stared around the round structure containing so many people pinned to the walls as he was, all of them naked and confused.He remembered leaving the pub having had a couple of beers following work and then nothing until he came to in this strange place and it was clear from the looks on the other people's faces that he was not alone in his confusion. How had someone been able to kidnap him and all these other people all around him and bring them all here, wherever here was and for what reason?Once the image appeared communicate with them, Alan hoped to get the answers to his questions, but instead was led into a strange new existence which his previous experiences had not prepared him for and one where it soon became very clear that the penalties for not following the rules were the difference between life and death.. 77,000 words
