The Emus of Campion Valley

This is a beautifully told 'all ages' epic tale - that features one of the most absurd chapters in Australian military history. THE GREAT EMU WAR. Funny, tender, and with animal characters that readers will fall in love with. Told through the eyes of the emus themselves, The Emus of Campion Valley is a sweeping, mythic adventure of kinship, courage, and the stubborn will to never give up when the world turns against you. A unique Australian adventure that will stay with readers long after reading the last page.Since the beginning of time, the emus of Campion Valley have followed the ancient paths south in a yearly migration. But this season, a tragedy tears through the mob, silencing the valley and halting the great migration for the first time in generations. At the heart of the shaken flock stands Emu Bob. Bound to his family and his land. Having been banished from his mob, Bob encounters other outcasts and they band together for survival. With the country drying beneath their feet Bob leads his new mob into the wide, burning wilds of Western Australia's outback, through fire-scarred scrub, moonlit salt flats, and territories where wanderers aren't welcome. But beyond drought and predator lies a threat none of them could imagine: a human plan to wipe out their kind on a scale the outback has never seen. As the Army closes in, and the GREAT EMU WAR begins, Bob and his brothers must fight not only for survival and redemption, with the hope of being readmitted to their flock, but for the right to exist in the country that shaped them. This book is for readers who enjoyed WATERSHIP DOWN, ANIMAL FARM, REDWALL. The book also contains in the back matter, an excerpt, from James S. Flynn's next book, SCENT - Story of a Loyal Dog.
