The Drowning Masquerade

THE DROWNING MASQUERADE For forty years, Julia Nightshade has lived beneath the weight of a single photograph: two five-year-old twins standing on a California dock, one smiling into the sun, the other staring silently into the camera just hours before Julian disappeared forever. Now, after Julian is finally declared legally dead, Julia has agreed to do the one thing she's refused her entire life. Tell her story. Across from America's favorite television psychic and one of the nation's most celebrated investigative journalists, Julia promises to tell the truth. She keeps that promise. She simply doesn't tell it in the order anyone expects. As the live interview unfolds, forgotten memories begin to contradict themselves. Tiny inconsistencies become impossible questions. A tragedy the entire country thought it understood begins to unravel, exposing decades of carefully protected lies, betrayals, and family secrets. And every masquerade ends the same way. Someone always drowns.
