The Dreadful Wind and Rain

In the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, a dark secret lies buried. When Sadie and her siblings stumble upon a skeleton in a dried-up riverbed, they unearth more than just bones-they uncover a mystery that has haunted their family for years. Meanwhile, deep in the secluded woods, Edgar Hayter, a man attuned to the mountain's whispers, senses a monumental shift, an omen of impending change. As a devastating wildfire rages and torrential rains bring the old river roaring back to life, Sadie and Edgar find their paths irrevocably intertwined. But the mountain demands its due, and some secrets refuse to stay buried. Can Sadie protect herself from the unraveling past, or will the unforgiving land claim its next victim? Inspired by the Southern Gothic tradition, The Dreadful Wind and Rain is a complex narrative set in the still mysterious wilds of the Appalachian Mountains.
