The Death of a Millionaire

Sugden's Hotel prides itself on discretion, but even its hushed corridors cannot muffle the shock when millionaire Hugh Restington goes missing under violent circumstances. Called to breakfast with the influential Lord Ealing, the guest never appears-only his chaotic bedroom, streaked with blood and evidence of a desperate struggle. His Russian secretary, Rosenbaum, is already gone, along with a trunk that may hold more than just luggage. A chilling letter demands an unnamed object, and Inspector Blaikie finds himself drawn into a world of hidden identities, mineral specimens from Siberia, and a shadowy group that will stop at nothing. With Lord Ealing's assistance, Blaikie must piece together the puzzle before the trail goes cold. But every answer only deepens the mystery, and the missing millionaire seems to have vanished for good.
