He has never had one open its eyes - until the corpse he's preparing for burial whispers three words and goes still again: Don't bury me.The voices don't wait for the funeral home. The graves lie undisturbed, but something inside them is waking. While the Rougarou stalks the swamp hunting an oath-breaker, and an old prophecy convinces one of Étienne's oldest friends that the covenant itself is the true crime, he uncovers a truth the founding families kept even from each other - the Drowned King was never guarding humanity from the dark below the water. He was guarding the dark from getting out.The Night of Returning is not history. It is about to happen again."We're coming home."
