The Crownless Games-The Eighth Champion

Every five years, the kingdom of Avarren avoids civil war through the Crownless Games-a deadly tournament where seven noble houses send champions to compete for the right to rule. But this year, an eighth champion enters.Lyra Venn is a street fighter with no title, no army, and no place among the powerful. When she discovers she is the last daughter of a noble house erased from history, she forces her way into the Games to reclaim a name the kingdom tried to bury.Inside the arena, victory is never simple. Each trial tests more than strength: strategy, magic, combat, diplomacy, deception, sacrifice, and judgment. Every alliance hides a knife. Every noble house has a secret. And the Games themselves may have been created for a purpose far older-and far more dangerous-than choosing a ruler. As Lyra fights for recognition, she must decide what kind of champion she wants to become: one who wins the crown, or one who changes the rules forever. The Eighth Champion is a sweeping political fantasy of deadly trials, noble rivalries, buried history, forbidden power, and one girl's fight to restore a house the world was forced to forget.
