The Chicken Story

Eight-year-old Harry wants spending money like his friends have. His solution: start a business. There's just one problem - he has no money to start one, and his parents can't help.So Harry looks around his small town and notices something everyone else overlooks: free-range chickens wandering loose down the streets. Could they be the answer? The Chicken Story is a true story, whimsically illustrated, about resourcefulness and the first business a child builds from nothing. It's told by the real Harry - R. Harry Page - and written by his son, second-generation kidpreneur Jonathan Page. The book closes with a business plan template that walks young readers through the same steps Harry took, turning the story into a practical tool children can use to plan a venture of their own.For ages 5-9, The Chicken Story is a natural fit for classroom units on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and goal setting.
