The Cast-Down

"Zeridory, an arch-intelligence, critiqued the Almighty's grand design once too often. Yet, instead of punitive banishment, the Father deployed him as a seed into the raw fire of human existence. Stripped of his robes of light and crammed into the brutal confines of a human 'meat-sack, ' Zera is stranded in the gritty underbelly of San Francisco, carrying the physical and spiritual weight of six starlight wings painfully folded against us. Navigating the bureaucratic humiliation without a Social Security number by taking off-books dock labor and flipping burgers. Haunted by the ghosts of his celestial team and the relentless, loving voice of the Almighty, he learns that his sharp intellect and prickly disposition are not flaws, but tools designed to break through human self-reliance. Through quiet, disruptive miracles of compassion-like healing a shattered tibia and saving a hardened landlord from a heart attack-Zera is forced to confront the beautiful, messy reality of the people he was sent to save. From the rain-soaked streets of the Bay to the corridors of divine power, The Cast-Down is a profound, metaphysical, and allegorical journey. It is a story about moving humanity from the exhaustive effort of desperate hoping into the absolute, liberated certainty of divine knowing, and the discovery that the deepest darkness is simply the soil in which redemption grows."
