The Candle: A Father's Burden. Daughter's Light.

Tyriel was an archangel once. Then he loved a mortal woman, and his Father condemned him to die and be born again-forever-carrying every life within him.Three thousand years later, the accumulated weight is becoming impossible to bear. Each incarnation leaves another voice, another grief, another soul in his care. Beneath them all remains the memory of the daughter he left behind in the ruins of a burning city.In his latest life, Tyriel is Peter: a soldier and scholar moving through a war-torn desert. There he meets Sara, a civilian scholar whose presence steadies something in him that has been failing for centuries. He does not understand why. He only knows that the forces that have hunted him through every life are drawing close. To survive what is coming, Tyriel must confront what his punishment has made of him, what love has demanded across the centuries, and whether an immortal burden can still be met with mercy. The Candle is a dark literary fantasy about fatherhood, memory, sacrifice, and the fragile light that survives the longest night.
