The BrookBend Files: Things We Sowed

It's not written on any map. Nor can it be found on a GPS. But, if you look hard enough, driving through dirt roads, wooded landscapes, past the cornfields, and through a dense fog, you'd finally find it. You'd find the small, beautiful town of BrookBend, Indiana. The land of freedom and fresh starts. At least, that's what the Holloway and Whitlock families expect. Instead is a town steeped in corruption, cruelty, rot, and where the cornfields trap you in their yellow haze.Through the eyes of fourteen-year-old Liu Whitlock, witness his brother endure relentless bullying, social isolation, and neglect at home-becoming something increasingly violent and monstrous.Years later, BrookBend is haunted by the legend of the "Demon of BrookBend," a serial killer born from the town's rot. Through Liu's memories and the story of Jane Holloway-a young girl forced to confront the same corruption festering beneath BrookBend's surface-the novel explores how monsters are made, and what happens when a community helps create its own.Blending coming-of-age drama, sibling bonds, first love, and psychological horror, The BrookBend Files reimagines internet folklore through the lens of rural decay, generational trauma, and the stories people tell to survive.Inspired by Internet CreepyPastas
