Twelve-year-old Xavier's best friend, his ONLY friend, Dad, has passed on after a protracted battle with cancer. His mother, taken over by her grief, has locked herself in her late husband's study. So, Xavier has started a journal. Mrs. Mwalenga, his English teacher, thinks this will be a helpful exercise for him: pouring out his grief on paper. But it doesn't exactly ward off the 'lousies-the school bullies; the sword is definitely mightier than the pen in this case. Nor does it help with Ayala, the girl he has had a crush on for the longest time. The journal does prove useful, however, when he begins his cloning project-a project meant to help him revive his father (in a way), and also maybe solve some of his school problems. But the project might just be a lot more trouble than it is worth, and the clone a lot more dangerous...
