The Boy From Madrid

Madrid, 1958.Tomás Navarro has spent fifteen years building a life that bears little resemblance to the one he left behind. In Barcelona, he has a respected career, a well-appointed apartment and, most importantly, the freedom to be known only as the man he has chosen to become. Then his grandmother dies.Tomás returns to Madrid intending to settle her affairs, sell the crumbling apartment building he has inherited and leave as quickly as possible. But the building is full of tenants whose lives cannot be reduced to leases and rent books. Across the lane, the old print shop is still run by Gabriel Ortega.Gabriel was once Tomás's closest friend. His first love. The man whose final letter Tomás never answered. As a wealthy developer makes an offer that could solve every practical problem at once, Tomás becomes increasingly entangled in the neighbourhood he thought he had escaped. At the same time, he finds himself drawn back towards a man who has every reason not to trust him.In a city where neighbours notice everything and love between two men must be lived carefully, Tomás and Gabriel must decide whether what they lost fifteen years ago belongs safely in the past, or whether some things are worth the risk of choosing again. The Boy From Madrid is a tender, slow-burning historical romance about first love, second chances, and the complicated difference between leaving home and being finished with it.
