The Bottles Still Standing: Nobody should die on a Tuesday. There isn’t enough dignity in it: 1

A man can travel halfway around the world and yet stand still. Nilo Corsini has spent half his life leaving. Bangkok, Manila, Saigon, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta: different cities, different rooms, different women. And each time, the same promise: somewhere else, it will be easier. Then his father dies. What's left is an apartment to clear out, bottles no one ever finished, a sister who demands answers, and a phone call Nilo didn't answer. From then on, the past starts coming back uninvited. Amid paid sex, wine, drugs, airports, aging bodies, and nights that end badly, The Bottles Still Standing tells the unvarnished story of a man who has learned to run from everything except himself. A novel in stories about guilt, desire, grief, and loneliness. For adult readers. Book One of the Wine Trilogy. Can also be read as a standalone novel.
