This book assesses President Joe Biden's foreign policy as it evolved throughout his presidency, from his tenure as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to his election as President of the United States. Leonard Cutler argues that Biden focused on three main priorities: rebuilding alliances and strengthening multilateral cooperation, reasserting U.S. leadership on the global stage, and responding to a new generation of strategic challenges. Focusing on relations with China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, the Gaza War, and civil war in Yemen, Cutler articulates the Biden administration's achievements and shortcomings and looks forward to how its legacy might be determined by unfinished conflicts.
