The Between: A Forgotten Summer

Nobody in Pennywick can agree on how many trees are in the old grove. Nobody ever lost any sleep over it - except Mira.Mira has been trying to settle the question for years. It's the kind of thing that bothers her more than she can explain. This summer she has four others willing to help - her sister Nell, their neighbour Tom, and two new friends they met at drama club. Willing is probably the wrong word. Nell has already started running.Five children. One impossible summer. And a grove that has been waiting a very long time for someone to come and count properly. The Between: A Forgotten Summer is a funny, warm, and quietly magical story for readers aged 8-12, about five children - each of them wired a little differently, each of them just what they need to be - who have to learn to trust each other before something wonderful is lost for good.
