THE BATTLE FOR ATTENTION: A BOOK OF QUESTIONS

This book should be read with an open mind. But an open mind does not mean believing everything. An open mind means being willing to consider an idea while also being willing to examine it. Some parts of this book discuss technology. Some discuss sleep. Some discuss spirituality. Some discuss consciousness. Some discuss fear. Some discuss attention. Some discuss the third eye. These subjects should not automatically be treated as if they belong to the same category. A cellphone tower is a technological structure. A signal is a physical phenomenon used for communication. Sleep is a biological process. The third eye is a spiritual or symbolic concept in different traditions. A metaphor is not automatically a scientific mechanism. Keeping these distinctions clear is important. If you experience something unusual, take the experience seriously. But remember that taking an experience seriously does not require immediately accepting one explanation for it
