The Archangel

The more things change . . .After Civil War II, America is unrecognizably fractured and scorched. In the desolate wasteland of Nevada, the law is simple: kill or be killed. And the desert bows to only one-Dante, the Angel of Death-a merciless gun-for-hire. At age twenty and with Empiripacks in his veins, his learned language is violence, and he is convinced he has no equal.Until a brutal clash with his brother, Lucas, sends Dante spiraling.. . . the more they stay the same.Emotionally shattered and feeling the tug of rationality, Dante immerses himself in the writings and teachings of the past. He chooses to quiet the chaos that he helped unleash, answering to reason rather than rage. But the blood that once covered his hands is difficult to wash away. He returns with a new creed and a new name-the Archangel.Logic, integrity, and justice prove impossible to reestablish as the same battles repeat. With Lucas destroying every gain Dante makes, he knows a deadly confrontation between brothers is inevitable. But in his quest for a better world, will the Archangel finally find his soul or lose it forever?
