The search for low-cost equipment or procedures in rural areas has attracted farmers, engineers, and researchers to develop new technologies. These assist in agricultural operations, minimising physical effort and saving time in performing the work. This study is the result of a two-year research project conducted at the Federal University of Paraíba/Centre for Agricultural Sciences (UFPB/CCA). The study describes the development and evaluation of a peeling machine for castor beans, as well as its comparison with other peeling methods and its effects on the physiological quality of the seeds.
