Sunshine

unshine by Bill Milan is a powerful literary drama that follows the difficult and deeply human journey of Lon Allison, a homeless scrap collector struggling to survive the brutal streets of Chicago during one of the coldest winters of his life. Living out of an aging van and surviving day by day through grit, humor, and resilience, Lon navigates poverty, loneliness, friendship, and the harsh realities of modern urban life while holding onto memories of a better past.Through richly detailed storytelling and emotionally grounded characters, the novel explores themes of homelessness, economic decline, family struggles, mental hardship, social inequality, and survival in an increasingly unforgiving world. As Lon reflects on his childhood, lost opportunities, failed systems, and the changing American workforce, Sunshine paints an honest and compassionate portrait of ordinary people pushed to society's margins.
