subMERGED

Submerged drops a newly hired IT leader into the deep end of a bank merger, forcing them to navigate competing technology platforms, organisational loyalties, executive politics and a transformation timetable that keeps getting harder. As two banks struggle to become one, decisions about systems quickly become decisions about people, careers and culture. When a major technology failure raises the stakes, assumptions that once seemed obvious begin to unravel.Along the way, practical approaches to assessing capability, integrating organisations and making better technology decisions emerge naturally from the pressure of getting things wrong and learning in real time.A business novel about leadership, technology and what really happens when organisations are forced to change. For readers of The Phoenix Project, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, and The Goal.
