** PROTECTED Guan Xi Zhe Wai Mi ** PROTECTED Guan Xi Zhe Wai Mi ** PROTECTED Guan Xi Zhe Wai Mi ** PROTECTED Guan Xi Zhe Wai Mi I grew up on the west side of Detroit on a street called Burlingame; this provided me with a curbside view of those historic and troublesome events that occurred in my neighborhood. Violence, pain, and upheaval were just a part of my everyday life. Good days were interspersed with bad, filled with laughter, adventures, life lessons, and tears. From elementary to high school, I navigated through a land constantly in a state of war.During my freshman year at college, I experienced for the first time inner peace when I accepted Christ in a small campus apartment. Being young and adapting to this new lifestyle proved to be challenging at times, especially when confronted with the pressures from my peers and family.I endured many bouts of backsliding and redemption, until finally I asked God one night this most sincere question, "Lord, knowing what I know, why can't I get it right?"This is a story about the life of a child growing up in Metro Detroit and the man who came back.
