Give me three words, and I will give you a story. At a crossroads in Belgrade, a writer takes possession of a public bench and begins asking strangers for three words. >A bench becomes a kingdom. A tree becomes a conspirator. >But the strangers do not remain strangers. They return. They talk. Some read what has been written about them. Some recognise themselves. Some do not. Some reveal things the writer could never have guessed. And gradually, a game about words becomes something far more difficult: an attempt to understand what happens when we turn other people into stories-and what those stories reveal about us in return. Set among the workers, wanderers, migrants, musicians and accidental philosophers of contemporary Belgrade, Stories, Yours, Sincerely is a work of literary autofiction about language, exile, friendship, imagination and the strange ways people become part of one another's lives. Funny, melancholic and unapologetically digressive, it is a story about strangers. Until they aren't.
