JGZ is a happy Honduran boy from El Progreso, Honduras. This is the story of a boy born in the 80's. It begins with happy moments dancing with mom, playing Superman, and dancing to Michael Jackson's "Beat It." But soon reality unfolds. What could have been tragedies, like an almost drowning in the river, or a fractured cranium from a fall, God, with His might, helped him survive. With a young mother struggling to provide food on the table, she tries to give him a better life and ventures to America, only to leave him behind with his grandmother, aunt, and uncles. What unfolds for JGZ is the reality that he must face the world alone now that his mother is no longer there to protect him. At the tender age of four, he suffered sexual abuse, neglect, hunger, and accidents that could have killed him. But once again God seems to have His hands and protection around him. Mom comes back and takes JGZ to the United States of America at the age of nine, where he starts his new life, a new struggle to find his identity and who he is as he grows into a teenager and into adulthood. He then joins the United States Air Force, where he finds his purpose. But tragedy strikes soon after, his father takes his life, and JGZ turns to alcohol to drown the pain.He gets married, starts a family, but the alcohol struggles continue for years until God reaches him through a dream. Life goes on as he and his family travel to England, New Mexico, and Florida on his family's Air Force military assignments.Join me for this riveting story full of ups and downs, where God meets this boy, now a grown man, at his lowest points, only to raise him and show that, no matter the struggle, he is still standing.
