Still Sounds

This selection of short stories and poems has been created by a midwife exploring the experience of stillbirth. It gives a voice to the grief that is often carried in silence-grief that is intimate, and enduring. Each piece stands on its own, yet together they form a mosaic of love, loss and memory as they search for meaning after an unimaginable absence. The writing moves between raw honesty and gentle reflection, capturing the way sorrow can coexist with tenderness, anger with beauty, and devastation with moments of unexpected grace. Rather than offering answers or resolutions, these stories and poems create space: space to mourn, to remember, and to feel seen. This collection is for those who have lived through loss, for those who love them, and for anyone willing to sit with the truths we too often turn away from.
