Spoon-fed Addiction

A newly revised and expanded edition of the novella originally published in 2000. Houston, 1995. A drug dealer narrates his final night from a bathtub, one long confession tracing every loss, every bad decision, and every person he destroyed on his way there. It reads like a crime story. It isn't. The shadows don't create the wound. They live in it. Adiran let them in to hide his pain. They followed him through the neon-lit streets of Houston, feeding on his grief and wearing the face of Veronica, the woman he failed to save. By the time he understood what he had invited, it was already too late. Before he died, Adiran made one final visit to Angela Sterling, a sheltered young woman who believed she understood him. He told her he loved her. The shadows went in with the kiss. Spoon-fed Addiction is a supernatural horror noir about the stories trauma tells us, the faces grief borrows, and the damage we pass on when pain becomes the only thing we have left to give. "Grief doesn't die. It spreads."
