He was then offered expences to do something similar in the Middle East. These occasional jobs were useful; ocasionaly he could help someone he dealt with, warning them off. Working in a South American country, his tip of to his friend turned out to be associated with a huge drug bust. This upset some very dangerous people and Vic needed to disappear. The new countries formed after the Soviet Union disolved seemed like the perfect hideaway. Parfect, but not necessarily peacefull.
