Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Second Glimmering of Grace

Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Second Glimmering of GraceWhat happens when someone who has caused trouble is the one who needs help?Sophion(TM) the Eagle-Winged Unicorn and Uncle Humph(TM) had not intended to spend the day rescuing wolves.Or rather, Sophion had not intended to.Uncle Humph rarely intended much of anything. He simply carried maps. And snacks. And emergency butterscotch-plural.But when a desperate call carries across the wind from the Hollow-a place everyone in the Kadayawan Valley knows is filled with troublesome wolves-Sophion and Uncle Humph must decide whether mercy is only for the helpful... or whether sometimes love asks us to help still. What they discover is a frightened community, a broken bridge, a Great Grey Wolf with a difficult past, and something that cannot be made perfect.Perhaps, however, it can be made safe enough. The Second Glimmering of Grace is a gentle story about mercy without naïveté, forgiveness without pretending that harm never happened, healthy boundaries, repair, belonging, and the difficult possibility of becoming companions with people who do not always get things right.Because if everyone only helped the helpful, we might all be in terrible trouble, indeed.Like every book in The Mabuhay Stories(TM), this tale is written as a Canonical Story Score-created to be read aloud, performed, discussed, and illustrated by YOU. Readers are invited to make their own lifelong illuminated edition while families, grandparents, teachers, librarians, and communities discover the story together.Because every creature in the Valley deserves to be loved...and included...and given a place to belong...Even Wolves. And because sometimes love sees calamity clearly...and helps...STILL.Mabuhay!
