Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Fifth Act of Ineffable Light

Sophion(TM), Uncle Humph(TM) and The Fifth Act of Ineffable Light(TM)What if the best way to remember someone is to become the kind of love they showed us?Jesse the Chief Steward(TM) knows his Time of Trouble is drawing near.So he gathers his twelve special friends-not in a palace or fortress, but in an ordinary upper room at Dave's Place(TM).A room built for stories. And songs. And celebrations. And cups held out to lonely souls. There they eat, laugh, sing, and remember. But before supper begins, Jesse does something his friends find completely backwards. He wraps himself in a towel. And begins washing their feet.Every one of them. Then Jesse breaks bread, shares a cup, and asks his friends to remember him-not merely with their thoughts, but by doing for one another what he has done for them.Even Persnickety the Snake(TM), whose hope has begun to disappear, receives Jesse's loving service before choosing a very different road. The Fifth Act of Ineffable Light(TM) is a tender story about friendship, service, remembrance, free will, sharing food, and loving others even when we cannot choose their path for them. As Jesse and his friends prepare for a sorrowful tomorrow, they discover that remembrance can become something we DO.Like every book in The Mabuhay Stories(TM), this tale invites readers to read aloud, illuminate their own lifelong edition, share the story together-and, if they wish, sing along with the 45-second Melody of Grace and Mercy and Peace, Mercy Has No End.Because perhaps remembering is more than looking backward.Perhaps we become remembrance itself-by serving Mercy forward. One another.Around a table that never really has to end.Mabuhay!
