Somewhere Between Oasis and Mirage

Somewhere Between Oasis and Mirage is a contemporary noir set along the U.S.-Mexico border, where atmosphere, romance, and quiet danger intertwine. Jack Keyes has built a carefully controlled life in El Paso, running an exclusive restaurant and a hidden bar known only to the right people-a place where influence flows, secrets are protected, and the past stays buried. That control is shattered when a violent incident tied to stolen government documents pulls Jack into the orbit of federal scrutiny and unseen power. At the same time, a woman from his past-the one who disappeared without explanation years earlier-walks back into his life, reopening wounds he never fully healed. As tension tightens around him, Jack is forced to navigate a world of shifting loyalties, political pressure, and personal history, where every conversation carries weight and every choice has consequences. Blending the mood and fatalism of classic noir with a modern border setting, Somewhere Between Oasis and Mirage is a character-driven story of love, loss, and the cost of living between who we were and who we choose to become.
